Eligibility Criteria
There are many Universities and Colleges where International Students can choose to study, but they should meet the admission requirements. Students require a Study Visa to study in Dubai if they are not a United Arab Emirates national or do not belong to any 5 GCC countries, i.e., Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia. Before issuing a Student Visa, the students must complete all the formalities of the University. Following are the documents required to apply for Dubai Student Visa
- A valid passport.
- Four Passport copies.
- Recent twelve passport-sized photographs with white background.
- Admission Offer Letter received from UAE university.
- Students Bank statement for the verification of funds.
- A tenancy agreement. If a student does not have any, he must get a letter from the university if he will be staying in the University Accommodation.
- Copy of tuition fee receipt for the current year of the study program.
- Copy of visa fee receipt for the current year of the study program
- Post-graduate students need to show proof of their undergraduate degree
- Once the student reaches Dubai, he needs to undergo a medical test from an authorized medical center. The test generally includes a medical and chest X-ray for HIV, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, Leprosy, Syphilis and Tuberculosis.
- If any of these test results are positive, then the student will be deported except for Syphilis because it can be treated.
In Dubai, the under-graduation courses admission happens in the months of April/May; July/August; and again in December/January months.
The post-graduation courses admission happens in the months of July/August; and in December/January months.
In some universities, the admission happens all through-out the year. So, the admissions happen in fall, spring and summer. The Fall season attracts most of the international admissions.
Dubai Study Visa Process
The United Arab Emirates is a study destination for International Students. It has become an International Education spot as many Universities and colleges are setting up campuses for International Students. Students who wish to study in Dubai require a Study Visa, which is valid for full-time programs. The student visa is valid for 12 months, so students must renew their visa at the end of the 12-month period if their program is longer than that. Students are given short-term visas for programs less than 12 months. Students must start the process 1-2 months before the semester. To apply for a Dubai student visa, one must follow these steps:
- Students must fill the visa application form and attach a passport-sized photograph to it.
- Make sure that the attached photograph meets the required specifications.
- Complete the application by attaching the required documents as per the checklist.
- Submit your application at the Dubai application center.
- On visa approval, collect a visa copy from the application center.
The fee for a post-graduate program can cost 55,000 -75,000 AED per month.
- Dubai is a sophisticated city, and the cost of living for a student can vary from $1200-$1500 USD, which includes food, rent, entertainment, and other expenses.
- An undergraduate program can cost between 37,500 to 70,000 AED.
- The living expenses for an undergraduate can cost approximately 2500-4000 AED.
